What I Accept

Clothing Rack

I accept clean, gently worn pieces with in-demand or timeless styles and in good condition. Although I welcome various brands, I am selective — not every piece from a brand on the list will be accepted, as there is often a variance in demand within a brand’s catalog.

  • Type: You may bring in women's clothing (all categories, although intimates must be new with tags), men's clothing, handbags, shoes, and certain accessories (certain valuable sunglasses, keychains, etc.). I also take out-of-season items, although keep in mind these may be less likely to sell.

  • Condition: Clean, hair-free, odor-free, and like-new or gently used with no flaws outside of very minimal wear.

  • Style: On-trend or timeless. (Sorry — that means no skinny jeans!)

  • Brand: See the “Brands I love” section of this website for inspiration.

  • Preparation: Laundered, dewrinkled (to the best of your ability), and folded in plastic totes or paper bags (IKEA bags are great, for example.) Please do not put your items in trash bags, suitcases, or boxes.

  • Amount: In the Notes section of your appointment booking, please estimate how many items you will be bringing in. At this time, I cannot evaluate more than 75 items per drop-off. If you have more, you may come back in after your first drop-off has been evaluated and processed.

How to get started + the details

Clothes Hanging on a Rack

1. Schedule a drop-off

This will be at my Seattle location. You can schedule an appointment on my calendar here.
(Don’t see a time that works for you? Feel free to reach out and I may be able to accommodate.)

2. Prepare your items

Wash, dewrinkle (to the best of your ability), and fold clothing into plastic totes or paper bags. Do not bring in clothing with stains, rips, or holes. Very valuable pieces may be considered if they have minor flaws (a shoe with a small scuff, for example.) Any flaws will be disclosed transparently online — this will affect the list price.

3. Drop-off, contract signing, and item review

Once you drop off your items at my office, you will sign a contract on site (standard for consignment agreements.) Please review this carefully as you will be specifying your payment method on the form.

I will review your items on the spot. It may take up to 2 hours for me to evaluate your pieces, depending on volume. I will contact you via your preferred contact method when I’m done.

4. Pick-up (or clothing donation)

Once notified of evaluation completion, your unaccepted items will be subject to the option you have specified on your contract. If you have elected to pick up your unaccepted items, please collect any unaccepted items within 5 business days — otherwise, I will donate them responsibly. If you have elected to donate unaccepted items to charity, I will do so as soon as possible.

5. Your items go live online

Within 5 days of acceptance, I will email you a summary of your accepted items and their list price. You will be paid out on the last day of every month that you have sales. Prospective payout amounts may vary based on the platform on which the items sell (some platforms charge higher fees than others) in addition to potential discounts offered.

Accepted pieces are photographed cleanly on mannequins, hangers, or on clean fabrics and listed across my platforms within 5 business days of acceptance (at this time, this includes Poshmark, Mercari, eBay, Depop, Whatnot, and Vestaire for high-end pieces.)

6. At the end of your 90-day consignment period

I will inform you via email on the day your consignment period ends. If you have elected to do so, you may pick up the unsold items within 7 days of your consignment period’s end. After 7 days, at business day close, your items will be donated to a local charity. If you have elected to donate unsold items to charity, they will be donated as soon as possible after expiry.

Sales Reports + Getting Paid

Dollars

Sales updates: I will update you via email on a monthly basis, on the last day of every month, with a summary of sales as well as your payout amount. Please note that these are completed sales that have passed any potential customer return window.

Getting paid: You will be paid the same day your monthly sale summary is emailed to you, on the last day of every month. You will be paid via your preferred payment method as outlined in your contract — via Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle.

The below payout model applies (after applicable marketplace fees):

  • You will be paid 50% of the sale proceeds for items sold between $0 – $299

  • You will be paid 60% of the sale proceeds for items sold between  $300 – $999

  • You will be paid 70% of the sale proceeds for items sold for $1,000 or more

Marketplace Fees

Browsing Clothes

As of today, the current marketplace fees are deducted from every sale (before your payout percentage is assessed):

  • Poshmark: For sales of $15 or more, a 20% fee on the item sale price; for sales under $15, a flat fee of $2.95.

  • Mercari: 10% fee on the item sale price and buyer-paid shipping (shipping costs may vary between $5-12).

  • eBay: 15% fee if total amount of the sale is $2,000 or less, calculated per item; 9% if total amount of the sale is over $2,000, calculated per item.

  • DepopNo selling fee, however a 3.3% + $0.45 fee is assessed for payouts (this will be treated as a fee for the sake of this model).

  • Whatnot: Whatnot charges a standard commission of 8% on the final price of sold items. In addition, payouts are subject to a 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing fee for the services provided by the payment processor (this will be treated as a fee for the sake of this model).

  • VestaireAll items priced between $83 and $16,667 in USD are subject to a 12% fee. Items priced under $83 have a fixed sales fee of $10. Items costing more than $16,667 have a fixed sales fee of $2,000. A payment processing fee of 3% (min $3) will also be charged on the sale to cover the external processing costs of the transaction. (This means I will deduct 3% from the sale price, as well as the above fees depending on the sale price bracket.)

Why consign with me?

Clothing Products Packaging

  • Earn more: Receive a generous percentage of the final sale proceeds — 10%-20% higher than local consignment shops.

  • More exposure: Your items will take the stage in front of a worldwide audience, increasing the potential for sales. (I have sold to every state in the U.S., as well as the U.K., Canada, Australia, and the EU!)

  • I take more of your stuff: My brand list is extensive as well as flexible. If you have an item you think would be a great seller that is not on the brand list, by all means bring it in, and I will evaluate on a piece-by-piece basis. I also take out-of-season items, alternative pieces, men’s clothing, handbags, shoes, swimwear, activewear, and certain valuable accessories (think sunglasses and rare keychains — looking at you, Labubu), while other stores often have a narrower scope in style and inventory.

  • Support sustainability: Give your clothes a second life and help reduce fashion waste across the country and the globe.
